Training Overview
Support LGBTQ+ students at your school/institution. Combat discrimination and adhere to current laws.
Despite Supreme Court decisions, a recent Executive Order, and increased community support upholding their rights, LGBTQ youth continue to experience discrimination on college campuses. Proposed anti-LGBTQ laws, the promotion of conversion therapy, and recent presidential election campaign controversies have threatened students and eroded their feelings of safety.
Faculty members and higher education administrators have unique abilities to combat LGBTQ discrimination and support students. You can do far more than merely avoid violating Title IX of the Civil Rights Act of 1972. You have the power to enable students to be seen, heard, respected, and celebrated by your entire college community and ultimately by the world around them regardless of gender, gender identification, or sexual orientation.
