Training Overview

LGBTQ+ History Month- Learn how to help students feel safer.

October is LGBTQ+ History Month. Started in 1994 by high school teacher Rodney Wilson of Missouri, this annual tradition seeks to give LGBTQ+ kids a chance to learn their history and see themselves in those who came before them. This month is the perfect time to increase your knowledge and work to provide a safe place for LGBTQ+ students.

The pandemic has particularly affected LGBTQ+ people. You need to be vigilant in looking for students experiencing mental health and medical issues throughout the school year.
