Helen Huber is a nurse consultant/pediatric nurse practitioner with the Immunization Division, South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SC DHEC). Ms. Huber’s expertise is in the area of immunizations. She consults with the SC DHEC health departments and private health care practices, service and educational institutions, and the general public regarding various immunization topics. She assists in the development of immunization policies and standing orders for SC DHEC clinic use and serves as the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System coordinator for South Carolina. Prior to joining the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control she worked in clinical practice as a pediatric nurse practitioner for 23 years. She earned a bachelor of science in nursing degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master of science in nursing—pediatric nurse practitioner program from Indiana University, Indianapolis. She is certified as a pediatric nurse practitioner by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board and is a fellow of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.
