Matthew R. Korn, attorney at law, is an associate in the Columbia, South Carolina office of Fisher and Phillips LLP. He represents employers in all areas of labor and employment law. His background includes significant experience in health and safety litigation with the federal government. Mr. Korn recently co-authored an article with Kevin Troutman, titled “Ebola, Meet the ADA: Advice for Employers on Handling the Outbreak,” which was published in Forbes magazine.
Mr. Korn counsels clients on issues relating to government investigations and implementing proactive safety programs. Matthew also advises clients on day-to-day employment issues arising under statutes such as Title VII, the FMLA, the ADA, the ADEA, and the FLSA. While in law school, Mr. Korn served as a judicial intern for the federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission and as managing editor of the Georgetown Journal on poverty law and policy. He has also worked for the U.S. Department of Labor, where he litigated mine safety and health cases before the federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission. Matthew is also a regular contributor to his firm’s Workplace Safety and Health Law Blog. Mr. Korn earned his JD degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
