Michael Lowe

Michael Lowe is the chief equity officer for Shelby County Schools in Tennessee. He has also served as a regional superintendent and middle school principal in Memphis, Tennessee. His work focuses on culturally responsive teaching and equity in student work. Michael holds a B.S. in elementary education from the University of Memphis, and an education specialist and doctorate degree in leadership and instruction from Union University in Jackson, TN. Michael’s daily mantra (mon-tra) is to think systemically, but always act locally on behalf of our most underserved students in education.
